Witness Account:
I want to discuss this situation either over the phone or in person. Basically my family knew of an old cave used in prohibition days that was completely natural with no lighting etc. that we had permisssion to basically spelunk thru and enjoy the crystal cave and camp in a very remote valley in the S.E. Ollahoma mountain area. Until I am believed and understood that I know the incident was something abnormal, I will just briefly state my experience as I am using a cell phone to type. As a grumpy old man this is not easy. I will also give detail area if given the chance to possibly re-visit this area as thru a long business proffessional life and family I have shared my situation only with family for the most part. Basically the group of about 6-8 people that all witnessed this quick re-cap. My uncle had cooked t-bone steaks for dinner over our fire in the evening. As eating was ending the sun in the valley was already changing our small area in the circled valley to a dimly lit time. I was sitting across from 2 adults a cousin nearby me and my father seems to have been off to the left and my brother and maybe one more person were nearby. From my spot I saw the first large rock that simply slammed the ground about 30 feet behind my uncle and roll sort of close to begind them maybe about 15 feet away. This created some talk as odd but I was one that saw it never "roll" down the steep hill but rather seemed thrown. The adults heard a lot of cammotion up on a bit of a ledge maybe 30 to 40 yards above our campsite. Then a second rock about bowling ball size flies the same way from atop, hits ground and rolls within 5 or so feet from campfire. Now everyone was excited and yelling at hilltop for either the hillbilly moonshiners or such better leave or stop or shots would be fired. Thw escalatio was quick as more boulders came maybe 2 to 4 more and though not hitting us or camp directly it got crazy fast. My uncle and friend raced for guns as others tried yelling for the situation to stop yet it was only louder up on hill hill as tho a large animal or several people were involved. My uncle shot a warning shot from a large caliber pistol in the air and this resulted in more noise and another rock. Suddenly he began 3 or 4 shots in the direction popping up dirt etc. Right along the edge area. It went silent for a minute or so and again warning if you are people being stupid to speak up and come down or leave. No answer, as rusulling in the woods-leaves were still loud several more shots fired. After a short while it sounded as though somethimg or someone was leaving away from ledge and everyone was so excited/Scared no one slept till much later. It stayed quiet but I swear not totally thru the night. In morning all were so enthralled we tried to hike up and around the hill and perimeter to see if a huge deer or bear or anything left tracks or was shot, or evidence of people. There is much more detail and info about smells, the cave is a mile long trech one way and springs all around the area of fresh water as well as in the cave itself. I hope to discuss this further, and the area as I found out many years later how many sitings within a smallish radius there have been in that part of oklahoma. Contact me with any further interest..."The Spelunking Believer" is a book title I am considering because I know something abnormal occurred just as when it happened was unreal and at this time Large rock tossing to intimidate was not even talked about to my knowledge yet this all I gave carried for about 48 years now as I am age 61. I have Bachelor's Degree from O.S.U. Stillwater in 1987 and not some fool spreading lies or false information.

Sounds:
I did but my cousin still lives as a witness. Also.

Additional observations:
I did some will discuss live.

Investigator's Observations

Investigator(s): Phil Burrows

I visited with the witness on this report. The incident occurred in May or September 1976. Witness was about 13 years old and was in a group of 2 other youths same approximate age and 4 other adults. The group was camped in a remote area in Sequoyah, County Oklahoma. The respondent thought they were in the vicinity of Marble Falls, Okla. This camping area was used by the group over the years 10-12 times. The site was in a draw and surrounded by steep embankments on both sides. There was also a cave the men had explored numerous times and was about a mile deep in the hillside. The group arrived at the site in early afternoon and set up camp. 2 vehicles were used for sleeping and a pop up trailer was also used. The group was relaxing early dusk after a steak dinner when suddenly large, round bowling ball sized rocks were thrown at their camp with 1 almost hitting their fire ring. This obviously alarmed everyone. They heard sounds from something originating from a ledge above them 30-40 yards above their camp. The group yelled at whoever was throwing the rocks to stop under the assumption it was people throwing the rocks. More rocks were thrown their way which prompted a couple of the men shooting pistols in the air to dissuade the rock throwing. A couple more rocks were thrown. This activity lasted around 25-30 minutes in total. One comment by the respondent was that the rocks were seen in the air as if thrown and not rolling off the side of a mountain. At the end of all the commotion the group heard sounds of something walking off in the dark. One of the men tried to go up the side of the mountain from where the rocks were thrown but stopped due to the steep terrain and also being in the dark. All the excitement made sleep tough for everyone that night and they stayed up late discussing the events. The next day the group hiked up to the ledge where they thought the rocks came from but didn't find any telling signs of anything. Bigfoot was not on their minds when this happened.
