- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): Tami Grimes
I spoke with the witness yesterday afternoon by phone. He provided a very consistent account of the encounter he reported online, without exaggeration or dramatic effect, and presents to me as a very credible witness. This appears to be a Class 2 sighting.
Background:
The witness has been an avid hunter all his life and for this reason is confident of the distances he’s estimated in his report and also in his abilities to identify animals. Since he has family in Florida, he makes several trips each year from Kentucky to St. Augustine, Gainesville, Deltona, and locations in South Florida, so he’s very familiar with traveling Interstate 75. He also mentioned that he had no prior interest in the subject of Bigfoot or Sasquatch and has had no odd encounters while in the woods. He is absolutely sure what he saw wasn’t any animal he’s ever encountered before.
Between mile marker 159 and 157 south-bound, the three lanes of I-75 south are divided from the three north-bound lanes by a median with a guardrail, which then divides close to mile 156 with a wide, wooded median. This area is also densely forested on both sides of the interstate for about a mile and a half and crosses Tobesofkee Creek.
Incident:
Early morning, July 25, the witness was driving south on I-75, on his way from Kentucky to Walt Disney World for a family vacation. He had already stopped twice that night to catch short naps, so he was well rested when the incident occurred.
Around 4:40 am the witness was traveling in the middle lane at 75-80 mph, with one vehicle about a mile or so ahead of him in the right lane and another some distance behind him. His daughter and granddaughter were asleep and didn’t witness the sighting.
The witness described seeing a blurry shape moving down the median toward the left lane (from the east). He first thought it might be a deer approaching the inside emergency lane. He was driving a new Hyundai with bright headlights, so he didn’t need the high beams (I own a newer Hyundai and can confirm the low beams are bright and illuminate a wide area—so much so, I’m frequently “flashed” by oncoming traffic to dim my lights). He then witnessed as a bi-pedal figure stepped into the road about 70 to 80 yards ahead. He said the figure moved quickly, but wasn’t running, and crossed the lanes in wide strides. In two strides the figure crossed the left lane and entered his lane, now only about 30 to 40 yards ahead, then the figure turned mid-stride to look directly at the vehicle. The witness described this posture as exactly like the “walking Bigfoot” images. Due to his rate of speed and the close proximity of the animal, he was afraid he might hit it; however, the animal continued across south-bound I-75 in five to seven steps before disappearing into the woods on the west side.
When asked if the animal side-stepped or appeared startled by his vehicle’s approach, the witness replied “no”; he said the animal turned to looked at him in a “what are you doing here” manner, rather than with fear.
Description:
The witness described the animal as covered with black hair except for the face, hands, and feet, which didn’t have hair and were like skin color; darker than caucasian but not as dark as African American. The color of the feet was so unlike the black hair that his first thought was that someone was running across the road in socks, until he realized that the feet were both bare and huge. The size of the feet really stood out to him. He also noticed that the hair was long (it appeared to him like a crazy haircut). He described the arms as very long and noted they swung at the animal’s side as it walked. He also noted that although the animal was walking erect, the head sat forward on the neck and not atop the shoulders. He described the head as more round, but also said in the brief moment it was facing him, he saw the face in the headlights and didn’t notice much else about the head. When asked to describe the build, he used the word “lanky” and mentioned that it didn’t look like the bulky, muscular animals that are featured in the monster shows. The witness shared that he’s just over six foot tall and the vehicle he was driving was just under that height. Using that as a basis, and that the animal looked down as the vehicle approached, he estimated the animal was between 6.5 and 7 feet tall.
Other notes:
About 10 or 15 minutes after the encounter, the witness remembered seeing a sign indicating 114 miles to Valdosta. For this report, that information, along with the first mile marker he saw, was used to identify the location on Google maps.
On his way back home a week later, the witness noted that the area had several creek crossings. He’s planning to be back in Florida this fall and will attempt to get a GPS coordinate to better pinpoint the location.
He also said he gets some giggles and remarks from friends and family, but he knows what he saw.
