- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
I'm a truck driver and I was doing my morning route when I noticed a very tall creature with yellow glowing eyes covered in dark brown fur standing about 8 to 9 feet tall. On route nine between Glasford and Canton Illinois. Near grassy fields and a wildlife preserve. Walking very near the side of the road, as if it was going to run to the other side, but noticed the truck and stopped. Kind of a yield, but we definitely noticed each other.
Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): Corey Bicklein
I spoke with the witness for about 25 minutes. He is very personable, and seems intelligent and level-headed.
He is a longtime USPS employee. He has driven a 24 foot mail transfer truck on this section of road four times a day, six days a week for several years.
The time was about 5:50 am in very dim early predawn on a Saturday morning. On weekdays the road is usually busy, on Saturdays there's very little traffic. He was leaving Mapleton heading west toward Canton along IL Route 9/IL Hwy 24 on his usual route. As he was driving past Banner Marsh State Fish and Wildlife Area when on the south side of the road he saw "dark brown furry legs" of an upright walking creature illuminated in his headlights approaching the edge of the road (he was running his low beams). The animal reversed it's forward motion and started to backpedal away from the edge of the road toward the tree line, and when the light struck it it froze about 10 feet from the edge of the road and watched him as he passed. He got the impression from the short chain of events he had interrupted the animal as it was about the cross the road.
There is no ditch in the area, the grade slopes gently away from the road and the witness estimates the level of the ground where the animal was standing to be about two feet below the road surface, and the overall height to be roughly 8 feet.
The direct light from the headlights stopped at or below the waist of the animal, he was only able to discern a dark rough outline of the upper body and bright yellow/orange eyeshine at roughly his own eye level seated in his truck. The sighting lasted less than 5 seconds, the only further detail he could give was the legs were massive "it would take four of my legs to make one of his" was his description.
The sighting shocked him fairly severely, and he immediately reported what he saw to his co-workers and superiors when he arrived back at work in hopes of being able to retrieve video from the truck's dash camera. He was informed that the dash camera only records when there is an impact or sudden hard braking so no video would be captured. His co-workers expressed concern over his state of excitement and anxiety but expressed doubt about his recounting of the event.
Based on all available information it appears the creature was moving north out of the Banner Marsh State Fish and Wildlife Area and the witness encountered it as it was about the cross the highway.
After a significant amount of further questioning the witness was unable to give further details, but reported having seen deer and coyote on this stretch of road in the past.
He was very pleased to be able to talk to someone who didn't question his honesty or mental state. When I informed him there are 10+ sighting reports in the immediate area per the Bigfoot Mapping Project he was very relieved and thanked me enthusiastically for the information, as he was beginning to question his own mental state.
He was agreeable to showing me the location of his sighing at a future date if arrangements can be made. The area is excellent habitat for large animals with a lot of water, game and cover.
He sent me the attached cellphone picture of the location after he passed through on his afternoon route. Based upon the contents of the picture (a No Passing zone sign in the background and a telephone pole in the foreground equipped with a yellow marker on the crossbar and a guy wire) I was able to locate the spot on Google Street View, and found the GPS location via Google Earth. 40°33'2.76"N 89°49'20.25"W.
