# of Witnesses: 1

Witness Account:
I was sleeping on my truck’s floor in the backseats at a campground I’d found in the Ouachita Mountains, southern Oklahoma. I was awoken shortly after 2:00 am to my truck being violently shaken by a very tall, humanoid silhouette, which looked to be pressing down on the back up my truck. There was a load growl with every movement. After what I’d guess to be 15-20 seconds of witnessing this, I got up, started the engine and quickly turned to open my back door and scan the area with my rifle. In the short few seconds it took me to start the engine and open the door, whatever it was had fled the area. The speed at which this creature fled, as well as the way it looked to be pushing my vehicle convinced me this was not a bear. Regardless, I was alone, so after a quick scan of the area, I drove off and checked my truck for damage at a gas station about 40 minutes away. There wasn’t any evidence I could find, however the lack of scratches was another factor that convinced me that a bear’s claws were not responsible.

Sounds:
A loud growl/grunt with each shake of my vehicle.

Additional observations:
When I opened my door to scan the area, my nose was filled with a rancid smell. There was nothing to be seen, but it smelled like death.

Investigator's Observations

Investigator(s): John Sullivan

The witness is an outdoor lover and was even a boy scout growing up. He was on a 2 week vacation from work and decided he wanted to go camping and spend a couple days hiking. He didn't know where he was going and just happened to pull off the highway to look for camping spots. He got to his camping spot that evening, cooked bacon, and watched the sunset.

He went to bed between 10:30 and 11:00 that night. He was asleep in the back floorboard of his 2009 Honda Ridgeline when he was awakened by his truck being violently shaken back and forth. He was sleeping with his head toward the passenger door. When he raised up, he said he could see a dark, humanoid figure (dark - looked like a silhouette) through the back window shaking his truck. He said the animal was at least 8 feet tall and towered above his truck. He said he could see the human-looking hands on the side of his vehicle. He said the hands were between 3 and 4 feet apart. He noted that he could see that it had hair but he couldn't tell if it was long (he didn't think so).

He was sleeping with his keys right next to him. He leaned into the front of the truck to start the truck. As he did, he said the shaking stopped. He immediately turned back around, grabbed his rifle with light and kicked open the back passenger door expecting to shoot whatever animal was attacking his vehicle. When the door opened, he said nothing was there but a putrid smell. He said it smelled like he had parked on something dead. When nothing was to be seen, he crawled into his front seat and immediately left to go back home to Tulsa. He said he stopped at the nearest gas station that direction to inspect and see if there was any damage to his vehicle. He was confused when he saw no scratches because he first thought it could have been a bear attacking his truck (apart from the human-looking hands).

He said he's only told a few of his outdoor friends about the incident. One of them mentioned the possibility of it being a bigfoot so he started doing research. That's where he came across the NAWAC page and decided to file a report. After processing the events, he no longer believes it was a bear because of the height, hands, and speed of the animal. He said he would have stayed and looked around but was scared since he was alone. He does plan to go back very soon and take a few friends with him.

Something to note: He stated that he had 2 lbs of bacon and 1 lb of chicken stored under the bed of his vehicle that he was planning to cook for his 2 day camp trip. That's where he said the animal was standing.
