Witness Account:
Summer evening, coming home late during the week to our farm 8 miles from town. I was a teenager, driving my loud muscle car (sometimes too fast and was known by the local police) Thinking I was being followed by local cop, knowing he saw me leaving town minutes earlier I decided to take a gravel road back way home to confuse the cop if it was him following me. Moon lit night, I turned my head lights off to be less conspicuous and down this long hill I turned my car off and was coasting in the dark but I could see the contrast of the gravel road to the ditches perfectly. I knew there was a one lane bridge at the bottom by the creek/slough so I thought I would turn my headlights on for a couple seconds going through the bridge. WHOA! When I did there was this large hairy animal on two legs on the side of the road coming up from the ditch, I scared him as much as he scared me. He bolted in front of me, I just about hit him. One of the main things I remember was his thighs were taller that my car hood. I freaked out and forgot about the cop. I wanted to sprint back home a few miles and get my older brother and grab our shotguns and spotlights ( which were always charging, since we did a lot of night raccoon hunting.) We were back to the spot in 10 to 15 minutes. We searched for anything abnormal, and besides some bent over grass/weeds could not find any tracks or other evidence. I have always been very hesitant to tell many people my story.

Additional observations:
It's thighs were taller than my car hood. It was so close I thought I had hit it.
