- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
I have been experiencing things since last summer as follows:
It began with something throwing rocks at our RV (we are building a cabin and staying in our RV while building it). This went on for months and then tapping on our windows began along with throwing rocks and something rubbing up against the RV.
On the 6th of May, 2021, I was reading and the tapping started on the windows where I sit in the living room area. Shortly after that, I got up to finish cleaning my dishes and something that I believe could be a bigfoot or something else began pulling on my door and trying to open it, I stepped back from the sink and growling began. I was so scared and it kept trying to open the door and growling and that is when it growled again and I yelled, "STOP!", but it kept growling. I then got on the phone and called my neighbor and then my husband. I am now coming with my husband to his work and sitting in the car because I am so afraid to be there alone (my husband works the evening shift).
My husband tries to understand but most everything happens when he is gone to work.
We have put up outside lights, and just yesterday we added cameras but haven’t seen anything yet. When the occurrence happened, the outside lights were already in place.
Hand/foot prints:
None
Sounds:
Growling and foot steps around our RV
Additional observations:
None that I can think of
Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): Scott Whitemyer and Phil Burrows
The wife was initially interviewed on the phone by NAWAC Investigator Scott Whitemyer. Scott is a retired police officer.
After the initial interview, Whitemyer provided the following update: "The witness stated that they had been experiencing rock throws and tapping on the RV window since they moved to the property in April of 2020. She is retired, and her husband works the evening shift. Their plan was to build a retirement cabin in this rural area. The cabin construction was approximately 60% complete at the time of the investigation. They have a dog (a labrador) and two small birds (a conure and a cockatiel) inside the RV. She is an animal lover.
The witness had an encounter last week which included a creature growling and "trying to come into" the door. These occurrences severely frightened her, and she now refuses to stay at the RV by herself. She has been staying in her husband's car while he is at work from 2PM-10PM. She only gets two hours of sleep per day since the incident, and is exhausted. The visits happen weekly and began shortly after they moved to the property. She indicated that they didn't have any trash service, so they would burn their garbage (which included food) out near the tree line. This tree line is at the edge of a greater wooded habitat and a large creek that feeds a nearby reservoir.
The witness broke down and cried several times during the phone interview, stating that she just wants these occurrences to end. She said that she and her husband wanted us to come to their property to investigate further. She feels threatened by the creature. She doesn't understand why it comes back again and again, and always when her husband has left the house. She stated that it usually comes twice during the night: first around 9PM-9:30PM, and then again around 2AM. She also claimed that one night, the creature climbed on top of the RV and stayed up there for a long time. She said that she didn't want to call the police because she feels that they would "not believe me, and then I would be known as the crazy lady who believes in bigfoot."
She has never seen the creature. Her husband does not believe in the existence of wood apes, but admittedly can't explain the rock throws. She stated that there are no teenage pranksters in the area to her knowledge. She pleaded with me to have us send someone out to help end the occurrences. Nobody has investigated this site at time of this report.
It was my belief that the wife was being truthful in her account, and that she has experienced several encounters with a curious wood ape. It's possible that the new food source and the location of house (the last house on a dead-end road in a very rural area) may have played a role in the attraction."
Based on this initial interview, Whitemyer and NAWAC Investigator Phil Burrows visited the property several days later. Their plan was to perform a multi-day on-site reconnaissance of the area. Upon their arrival, the witness and her husband were interviewed at length.
Whitemyer stated: "The witness was asked to retell the incident. She became emotional as she described something messing with the door and growling. She told the exact same story with no additions or deletions, even to the level of detailing the specific silverware that she was washing when she heard it at the door. The husband wasn't sure what had happened, but confirmed that he'd received a hysterical call from his wife. He had to ask his boss to get off from work early that night to go home and console her.
We talked at length about the possibility of bears and raccoons being a potential source of the encounters. She stated that "bears don't throw rocks or tap on windows." We were of the opinion that the growl she heard was in no way a bear. The husband stated that on one particular night, he'd placed their dog in a kennel on the front porch of the RV after his wife insisted on having the door blocked. She stated that the dog went berserk in the kennel at something unknown outside. She said that the dog had never behaved like that before.
The husband showed us around the property and pointed out three game cameras that he had recently installed. The husband is a hunter, and was trying to figure out what was coming so close to the RV. He had also mounted a couple of motion sensor lights on the RV within a few days of the encounter.
We posted up each night to observe the RV and surrounding area. A FLIR Scout thermal imager and an AGM Rattler thermal scope were utilized. An audio recorder was also deployed each night. Deer, raccoons, possums, field rats, and an armadillo were observed, but nothing unusual was seen or heard during our overwatch efforts. Storms came through the area on multiple nights, significantly hampering the capabilities of the thermal imagers and audio recorder.
The surrounding forest is a mix of hardwoods and evergreens with lots of greenbriar along the nearby creek to the west. The foliage and brush was very thick near the creek."
The area in the vicinity of the property was consistent with other areas suspected to provide suitable wood ape habitat. The witness was very sincere when describing her experiences. The behaviors that she described were consistent with other encounter reports, and were notably similar to wood ape behaviors experienced by NAWAC Investigators.
