Man Has Late Night Face to Face Encounter With Large Bipedal Visitor

Report Details

Occurrence date: July/2000
Location: County, OH
Nearby/Vicinity: Dennison
Time / Conditions: 01:00 — It was 1am. I observed the animal with a hand held flashlight. there was no exterior light because there wasn't electricity on my property at this time. It was warm with very little wind
# of Witnesses: 2

Witness Account:
I was arriving at my property after attending an Indians game in Cleveland. I arrived at approx. 1am. Upon arriving I got out of my car and walked to the trunk to start unloading our clothes and such. I heard some movement behind me. It was at that point that something growled at me. The growl was something I had never heard before. I felt it as much as I heard it. I got back in my vehicle and sat there for roughly 10 minutes. I thought that whatever was there was gone. My girlfriend and I got out of the car and walked towards our cabin we were staying in. When I got around the side of the cabin, there was a large hair covered animal standing roughly 30 feet in front of me. I was able to see most of the face and the outline of the body. It was standing next to a tree. My flashlight was shining on the face. The head was covered in dark brown hair with no hair in the area of the mouth, nose and eyes. The eyes had a dark orange glow from the flashlight. It then turned 180 degrees and ran off. I was only able to see it for maybe a second before it had ran out of range of the flashlight. I then entered my cabin at a rather rapid pace. The next day, my father and I measured the height using the tape measure at 8 feet tall. This is one of many visual sightings on my property which is located in Harrison county Ohio.

Sounds:
The sound of the growl was a very low guttural sound. It was loud enough that I felt it in my chest. I am a musician and the best way I can think of to describe it was that it felt like I was in front of a bass amp. It didn't really have a tone to it

Additional observations:
I did not notice any odors
