Witness Account:
Actually this sighting was by my husband who is an OTR truck driver. He had left Texas headed home to Mississippi and was traveling through Louisiana at the time of the encounter. When he turned on the head lights he seen something in front of the truck. It was standing there looking at him with a deer thrown over it's shoulder. In regards to the size of the deer, he said that it had to be a pretty good size deer, as the antlers were visible. After standing and staring at my husband, the animal just walked on into the woods. Investigator's Observations

Investigator(s): Charles DeVore

This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, in 2003.

I interviewed the actual witness on 6 April 20046 2004 in depth and evaluated him to be a very reliable witness. The witness had not read his wife's submitted report; he and I discussed the alleged events as he recalled, which perfectly matched his wife's submitted report.

During our discussion, the witness had the following details to add to the report:

He was traveling east on I-10 crossing the 18 mile long Breaux Bridge over the Atchafalaya Swamp.

The witness indicated that he had stopped at one of the rest stop/boat ramps to stretch his legs; he was alone at this rest stop. At that time, he reportedly heard something walking in the water and got back in his truck.

As he was sitting there working on his log book, he noticed something in the moonlight that appeared to walking bipedally up the bank crossing about 20 yards in front of his truck. The witness remembered that he then turned on his headlights to see what it was. The witness stated that he saw a "very large animal walking on two legs carrying a deer across its shoulder."

According to the witness, the subject stopped in front of his truck when the lights hit it, and then turned about a 45 degree angle to look at him. It then turned around and walked back in the direction from which it had originally approached.

The witness estimated that the subject stopped for approximately three seconds before turning around.

The witness indicated that the subject made no noise; it apparently just looked at the witness, turned around and then walked off. The witness recalled that while the subject was looking at him, he did not interpret its facial expression to be of anger or fear. It was his impression that the subject merely wanted to avoid human contact.

The witness noticed that the subject was covered with matted hair of a very dark color, perhaps three inches in length. Its body was very wide and heavily muscular.

The witness stated that the subject carried the deer body of approximately 100 pound weight "as if it was nothing." The witness pointed out that the subject was bipedal and walked in a totally erect manner, not stooping at all. Its height appeared to be roughly seven feet.

Being alone and startled, the witness left the scene without getting back out of the truck.
