- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.

- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
We were pulling a well in a remote wooded area. Being the only female on the crew I had to find a tree to use the bathroom so I did. About 30 min. later we all smelled a horrible smell. We knew it wasn't quite right, it scared some of them so we left the site. When we returned the next day we noticed where I had went to the tree. It was torn up. I mean the whole little area looked like something tried to take it out. About 4 in. from the ground on the tree were and still are bite marks, they can still be seen. There were 2 well formed tracks about 13 in. long. There appeared to be 5 toes about 5 in. wide. I have gone back several times to see if I could spot anything else. I would be glad to show you.
Physical evidence:
Several tracks and the tree damage.
Hand/foot prints:
Several tracks and the tree damage.
Sounds:
We have heard loud, growling screams near in the Vivian, LA area.
Additional observations:
horrible smell.

This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, 24 January 2001.
I interviewed this witness on 10 September 2002. The event allegedly took place near Tree City, Louisiana, in Caddo Parish. This is located just east of the Texas-Louisiana border, between Gray, Texas and Vivian, Louisiana. This area is within a few miles of Caddo Lake and has a history of reported bigfoot encounters.
The witness told me that she and her husband owned a "pulling machine." They had a crew that worked with them and they worked primarily on oil rigs. There was a crew of five with the witness and her husband.
Reportedly in January of 2001, the woman, her husband and their work crew were working in the Tree City area. The witness went behind the pulling machine to relieve herself. She walked a short distance into the woods and found a 2-3 inch round sapling, about 30-40 feet tall. Bushes surrounded the tree. She relieved herself and promptly left.
The witness remembered that not long after her return, a "terrible smell" was in the air. It supposedly had an "old musky" smell, and also was similar to the smell of urine. The witness described it as "a gross smell."
The witness remembered that "an eerie feeling" came over some of the workers; they apparently felt like they were "being watched." The witness, her husband and the rest of the crew decided to leave the area.
They came back the next day and found that the area surrounding the tree where the witness had relieved herself had been "all torn up."
A smaller tree, approximately 10-11 feet high, had had its top severed off; the top was apparently lying next to it. According to the witness, the same tree was "bent all the way over." The larger tree next to it had teeth marks at the bottom of it. The wood at the bottom of the tree was ripped up. The ground in this area was torn up and looked "chewed." A footprint was also found nearby. Also at the bottom of the ripped up tree appeared to be knuckle prints. The witness claimed that she was indeed on her menstrual cycle during the event.
The witness also reported that in late August 2001, loud, growling, scream-type vocalizations were heard at their home but off in the distance. The vocalizations occurred at night, between 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm. There is water and plentiful food source in this area. There is a cattle farm nearby.
Two days before the vocalizations were heard, logging crews started in the area. The witness also reported that prior to this incident, she lost fifteen out of thirty ducks in one night. Four duck carcasses were found.
