Witness Account:
A friend and I were shooting 22's in the woods. As it was starting to get a little dim as the sun was just about to set behind the trees we heard this long howl. It was so loud it shocked us and scared us. We started walking back to the house as we were over a half mile into the woods or more. We were walking fast as as we had just started it howled again but had closed the distance it was from us by half. We knew the woods and it had moved about 100 yards faster than we ever could. At that time we started running. About a couple minutes later it howled once more. The leaves seemed to shake from the depth of it. Whatever it had closed the distance and know seemed to be where we had been shooting. As we ran and could start to see lights at the house it howled again and seemed to have move away from us. I have been interested in the subject ever since and have heared the same howl from recordings from these sites. We heard it a couple more times at night later that week as we sat out on the drive way with friends telling them about what had happened. But it only did a couple howls way off in the distance woods.
Sounds:
It was a loud howl like a military air siren combined with a cow,But the depth you just can't explain and the length of it.
