- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1b A report investigation results in a sasquatch observation or the documentation of clear tracks or other forms of physical evidence by an investigator.
- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 1d
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1d A visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility involving two or more reliable observers, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
My husband and I were driving home from Hamburg to Crossett, Arkansas, very late one night. We took a less traveled road, a shortcut to our house, which was Hwy 133 or Cross Road. We slowed down to cross over a railroad track and then we went into a very tight curve, slowing even further. As we were accelerating out of the curve, we saw a creature running very fast on two legs from the forest. It seemed that it was going to collide with our vehicle, which was a truck. The creature avoided impact but came to a halt right outside my window. I only got a glimpse of it up close as we drove by, but I can tell you that I saw right into its eyes and it was NOT a bear! It was large and we both observed hair on the body. All of the land through there is owned by a paper company so it is heavily wooded with no residential areas.
Hand/foot prints:
I wanted to turn around and go back, but my husband was too scared, so no evidence was seen or collected.
Sounds:
Didn't hear anything.
Additional observations:
I only got a glimpse of it up close as we drove by, but I can tell you that I saw right into its eyes and it was NOT a bear! It was large and we both observed hair on the body.
Around there it was wooded, it is all paper company land with no residences.
Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): John Morley
This interview was conducted as a result of a reported bigfoot encounter that allegedly occurred near Crossett, in Ashley County, Arkansas, 1992.
I spoke with the witness at length on 27 May 2006. She was not able to add much more than has already been reported. The witness estimated the time of the alleged sighting to be around 1:00 a.m. on a less traveled road which she and her husband had taken as a shortcut to their destination. The witness stated that usually only log trucks travel this road.
The witness emphasized that the subject was "very fast" when it bolted from the woods, running toward the road in an apparent effort to cross it. Her impression was that it was running from something; an odd comment indeed. The witness also stated that she found it hard to believe that the subject had not slammed into the side of their truck, and she was amazed that it had been able to stop itself so quickly. She remembered that the face was just outside the passenger side truck window when it stopped.
The witness was unable to comment regarding eye color, other than to state that the eyes were "bright and piercing." She was also unsure of the height as the encounter happened so quickly, and because she felt the subject was somewhat bent forward from having stopped so suddenly. She noted that the head appeared as if it had a "cape." She and her husband later discussed this and felt that the hair had been thrust forward around the head due to the sudden braking action to avoid hitting the truck.
I asked the witness if she or her husband had seen a deer or other animal cross the road just before they saw the purported bigfoot, and she said "No." The thought behind my question related to some sort of stimulus for the subject crossing the road; perhaps it may have been chasing a deer which perhaps had already crossed the road. The witness could only confirm that what she saw was very fast. In later discussions with her husband, each confirmed to the other that they felt confident they had seen a "bigfoot."
