Travelers Encounter Large Bipedal Hairy Beast Along Oklahoma Turnpike

Report Details

Occurrence date: April/1990
Location: Choctaw County, OK
Nearby/Vicinity: McAlester
Time / Conditions: 02:00 — Spring weather, cool and dry
# of Witnesses: 6

Witness Account:
I read the report of the Oklahoma sighting on Indian Nation Turnpike. My skeptical family had a similar sighting near the same place. In 1990, my husband and I got some great jobs in Arkansas and my parents decided that they were going to help us move. We found out that Indian Nation Turnpike was the quickest way to get to 69 to Arkansas. My father who was a scientist/engineer at the time liked to travel at night and since he was driving the U-Haul we left around 12:00am. As we were traveling along we stopped at the McDonald's before traveling north. We had passed the lookout (or crude restroom) when the U-Haul lights shined on a man walking down the side of the road. Of course dad slowed down and we slowed down behind him and noticed that this man was covered in hair. Mom said "Is that a naked man walking?" That is when my sister said that is not a man. The thing turned and looked at us and as the U-Haul passed it walked in front of the car in two strides and ran across the other highway and up the hill. It was brownish/reddish color and the thing was extremely tall with long muscular arms. We stopped at McAlester to fill up when I asked my dad what it was that we saw. He said it was best we forgot what we saw because people would not believe us anyway. It scared me and my husband so bad that we never traveled the pike again at night and we made sure that our car was okay to drive. It wasn't till years later after dad passed away that my kids were watching a bigfoot special and they asked if it was real, that is when my mother said "It's real just believe me when I say it's real." I felt that I needed to speak up so others would not think they were crazy if they saw it on Indian Nation Turnpike, the loneliest road at night.

Hand/foot prints:
none

Sounds:
none

Additional observations:
The creature was tall, way over 6 ft. It made no sounds but its eyes glowed like a cats in the headlights. It had long arms not like a regular mans
