Witness Account:
After returning from a Midnight hike, we pulled the truck into our camp area. As my wife and a friend of our son (15 years old) exited the truck on the driver's side (closest to the foot of the mountain we were camping at), something ran from our campsite and darted into the trees at the foot of the mountain. My son's friend told my wife that it was probably the kids that had TP'd ["toilet papered"] us the night before when we were out on our midnight hike. However, they had left earlier that day. My wife and the boy then moved towards the mountain and heard something VERY large run (bipedal) and scale the mountain and run away from them. My wife immediately yelled my name (I had already exited the bed of the truck and started towards the camp). When I ran to the foot of the mountain and attempted to go up it (the boy had also started to climb) it was almost impossible. It was almost straight up, and the only way we could scale the mountain was by slowly pulling ourselves up by the limbs from the trees. My wife and the boy stated that whatever they saw was extremely fast and scaled the mountainside like it was nothing.
When I suggested to my wife that it could have possibly been a bobcat or coon, she stated no way. The figure was too big and it sounded like only two feet. (Man running)
Physical evidence:
As we hiked on the mountains the two nights we were there, we found MANY broken limbs at very high levels. 1-10 feet.

This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Murray County, OK, in January 2006.
I interviewed the husband and wife on separate occasions by phone. I found this occurrence interesting in that I had worked a report from the same area the previous July. Having visited this area many times, I found it hard to believe that a large creature could inhabit the small camping area only. It would not be too large of a stretch of the imagination to postulate that a large wild animal could use the Arbuckle Mountains as its habitat, and to circulate through the same general area as it scavenged and hunted for food. If the report from July was of an unknown animal such as a bigfoot, could it be the same animal returning to the area in January? In my previous report, I had stated that bigfoot reports have come from areas to the north and south of Murray County, so perhaps there was something to this.
In the interview, the wife said that they had actually returned from eating at a restaurant in Davis around midnight when the unusual and frightening sounds were heard. The family was basically alone in the campground that night. They remembered having left some food out on a table, and in recalling the event the wife thought perhaps whatever they heard was there to get food. The husband wanted to make sure his wife and son had not heard a known animal or human when they called to him, and they assured him it was not. One thing that struck me in the interview was that the mother was adamant that it wasn't an animal; it was definitely a two-footed person or animal. Also, she was sure it was large from the sound of its heavy footfalls ascending the mountain. Further, the husband and son could not follow because of the steepness of the hill, which seems to rule out a human scaling a mountain quickly in the dark without a light. Investigators will be returning to this area in the near future to look for physical evidence.
