Witness Account:
I hunt in this area and have for two years. I have a connecting incident pertaining to this as well. Anyhow I'm sitting in my ground blind watching for deer on this public land my brothers, family and friends all hunt on outside Decatur Tx. I have heard odd noises and told my brothers or mainly one brother of mine whom hunts ducks near the lakes in the same area as I am not really into ducks I hunt deer. Anyhow to the point I'm sitting in the ground blind and I hear about an hour earlier what I thought was a whistle then a few minutes later sound like something actually say hello loudly and not like an owl or any I've heard and I've hunted my whole life. Anyhow I look at the area where I have one of my shooting lanes with my crossbow and I see right behind the first row of trees what looks like a huge hairy man standing there side shuffling kind of till he got out of sight and was facing directly towards my direction. Honestly I've seen most of the Bigfoot shows and although I do believe something could be out there like this these incidents are the first I've ever actually seen and heard myself. Anyway when I saw this I kept trying to rationalize it in my mind and figure was it a bucks horns sticking up that high and me just imagining what the heck I just saw. I remembered the hair in particular almost seemed to blend him into the terrain almost as if it changed colors kind of with the colors around it. I sent my brother a message at the time and he was all shoot the dang thing but honestly it has my heart pounding and I was actually scared because all I had was a crossbow and survival knife with me and I was worried if there was more than one or if I even attempted to try to go after it I'd be stupid because what I just saw was big enough to snap me in half and I'm 6'2ish and about 230 pounds. I knew my brother and my family would just disregard what I said and I've faced them making fun of me about saying things about this because a year before in the same spot same time of year almost I had caught a glimpse of something similar but just looked at it as I couldn't tell what it was and didn't say much about it. I've heard noises I can't explain on multiple occasions as well as I felt like something was throwing little pebbles or acorns that kept hitting my ground blind in the back of the way I sat, but I always thought of a rational explanation and just tucked it away as it was a squirrel above me or something but as I've thought about it they always were hitting almost the same spot and then I'd look around and see nothing and just think I'm being paranoid. Ok now here's what made me contact you about this. I shot a nice buck with my crossbow right before this incident at 25 yards out and it entered and exited his vitals and I had shot a doe the year before at almost the exact distance and she only traveled about 50 yards and passed. This night my brother was supposed to be on his way out to the area and was gonna bring a dolly or something to help me drag it out with. I kinda played it down as it being a smaller buck than what it was telling him it's right at shootable size etc because I was pumped and wanted to see my nephew's when they help me find and get this nice old buck I had took and I was sure he didn't go far because I hit him in both lung areas and had an expandable broadband crossbow bolt. Anyhow it took him a few hours to get out there and I had packed up went back to my truck to wait after I had went a short ways and found how good I hit him by blood on the crossbow bolt and saw first blood trail right after. So I backed out and had been in the truck waiting. They showed up and we go to get my deer and we are on an excellent blood trail steady blood then we get back into the woods a little ways where things get thicker but game trails and thicket and we find 2 pools of blood like he had laid down showing him bleeding alot from both sides of his body. Then it was the craziest thing we found like 2 drop where his mouth may have been there then nothing. I've shot deer before and if I had shot a questionable shot I'd honestly would be afraid to say it because we aren't perfect and things happen but all signs and everything I had done told me that deer probably expired right there but it was as if something just picked him up and carried him off. Literally we went every direction possible and it was so thick there's only a few options there and nothing not another drop. So it hadn't been dragged off by coyotes or something it was really weird it just somehow healed himself from bleeding out and then got up and walked off or something took my animal. I didn't know what to say. I just chalked it up to me somehow making a mistake but I am good with my crossbow up to 50 yards and had one of the best on the market for speed and kinetic energy so I just find that very weird. It could've been a mistake and he survive but all signs point to him being down about where those big pools of blood were. Anyways I honestly didn't know whether or not to even talk about this because I don't want to face scrutiny and be made fun of but I honestly don't care because at this point something isn't right and there's something there. Thanks for reading this and I hope I explain myself well enough I've tried to tell everything I've had happen to me and it's this one spot. I hunt another area right down the trails a few hundred yards away and haven't experienced any of this but the area I'm speaking of is a prince point that has a really deep Creek that runs in an L shape where the game have to travel a mile around or they will cross in that area if seeking to go on in that direction. I've seen alot of game but this deep Creek makes me think that it may travel deep down in it or along it possibly because it was big enough to get around it and what I saw was on 2 legs side shuffling and I caught it about halfway out if my view and didn't take my eyes off till it was gone out of sight. I also was scared to walk down that way that night and walked down that next day to see the terrain and try to explain what I saw and it was well over 7 feet tall not far but huge shouldered with gangly arms and hairs that wasn't any color almost but hair that changed and almost blended in with the terrain it was standing around almost making it unnoticeable to anyone except for his body outlined and me really getting a good look. It's made me a believer in something being out there. Don't know but if it's what I think it is Bigfoot Sasquatch or Wood Ape or whatever name one chooses to call it is real. Thanks for listening. Physical evidence:
I honestly may have found something but was scared to go back there because of the size of what I saw but I do have messages to my brother back then vaguely describing what happened and I messaged others so it would be known as to where I was and I left the woods early that night and have been cautious since. But it hasn't been alarming enough that I don't go back out there but I am kind of paranoid and really watch if I go around that area and I moved my hunting blind after this as well.
Hand/foot prints:
Found some by footprints by a pond not far in a field on another location but just thought it may have been a duck hunter that took his shoes off to retrieve decoys maybe but now it could have been what I saw it's not out of the question but would mean there's multiple out in this protected area.
Sounds:
Sounds like whistling. Like a bird almost but different tones at different times. One day I heard something yell hello but not like an owl like a young man's voice. Not horribly deep but not high pitched like an owl either. I've had owls around me my whole life and know the sounds of one and this came from the creek area down below and I was even looking around thinking someone was about to show up or was there but nothing. And the whistling sounds like an off pitched bird sounds. Kind of like we could whistle the same if we were really good but not quite at a birds pitch.
Additional observations:
I think the above explains myself as well as I can and I'll show someone where this is or go with them to the location or whatever also because I'm now curious and would like to know more myself. This area is not super far out I walked this back and and forth many times. We had noticed on another location not far some what looked like barefoot foot prints out there by a pond in a feild but just thought some fool was barefoot by the pond hunting ducks and removed his shoes but had a big foot. This is also like 5000 acres of federal land I'm speaking of which is open to the public so anything's possible. I'd also like to add this is at the starting of bow season right before people are allowed to hunt with guns and I moved my blind after and didn't hear much after gun season started.
