Witness Account:
I was fishing on Lake OH Ivie around the Elm Creek Marina boat ramp. I had just bought a new fish finder for my boat and was dying to try it out. The weather was really cold but I wanted to run my boat and try out the new Lowrance. When I was putting in that morning I saw one other boat but they were headed back in as I was putting in. I put in around 10 or 11am and fished Elm Creek and ran up and down the lake all day. I wasn’t catching any Largemouth so I thought I would cruise around and try and find some good spots for the spring. Around 4 o'clock I started making my way back and decided to fish the bank that the boat ramp is on. I killed my motor and let the wind push me along the bank for several minutes. I came to the final point on the bank before I got to the ramp. From where I was you couldn’t see the ramp because of a small hill that ran along the point. I saw some deer near the water across the lake just past where the ramp would be. I was watching the bank as I casted and reeled in my lure. As I drifted past the point the ramp came into view as well as something moving in between the ramp and some brush. I clearly startled this animal cause it imediatly took off running towards the hill that I just drifted by. My first impression was that it looked like a person crouched down covering its head with its arms as it ran. Clearly this thing was scared and moving fast. Once it got out of the clear and into the brush it seemed to stop crouching and looked taller. It ran through the brush so fast I couldn’t really make out much detail, but I knew this thing was dark black and looked to be running on two legs. Never seen anything run so fast. When it ran up the hill it starting crashing into some small trees, I think they were mesquites but I’m not sure. The sound of the branches breaking as this thing ran out of sight scared me stiff. When I got to the ramp I stayed there for 30 min because I was scared to make the uphill walk to get my truck. I was still the only person at that ramp. I’ve only told three people about this and have tried to make since of what I saw that day. I would assume this thing was a little over 6 feet tall, not massive but big. I’ve spent many years hunting and fishing and have never seeen anything like it. I believe it was a bipedal mammal, or a wood ape as you guys call it. Oh Ivie is located about an hour East of San Angelo. At the time of the sighting I lived in Crane Tx.
