Hog Hunters Have Evening Sighting of Large Bipedal Creature

Report Details

Occurrence date: October/2015
Location: Liberty County, TX
Nearby/Vicinity: Dayton
Time / Conditions: 21:00 — Dark, clear night
# of Witnesses: 2

Witness Account:
My 14 year old son and 15 year old neighbors son were checking feeders for their evening hog hunt. They were on the four wheelers in the woods on our road. The woods surround big milo fields on either side of our road. I think there's around 100 acres on one side of the road and 100 acres on the other that the boys have access to since the neighbors father manages the property for the owner. The road itself is a dead end, gravel road off of highway 146 south just between the Liberty and Harris county line. It is relatively rural with only about 8 residences scattered throughout what I believe is 16,000 acres of pastures, woods, creeks and fields. To the south of us about 4 miles as the crow flies is a chemical plant. Other than that we are appx 7-8 miles from town.

Anyway, my son is not one to easily frighten. He is 14 (almost 15) but a 6 foot tall, stout, no fear kid. He will walk across our property alone at night (11.5 acres), through the woods on the neighbors property to either get home or go visit. He has never been scared. This particular night, he came in the house visibly upset. I asked him how his hunt went. He said that there was something in the tree line next to the milo field. I asked if he killed it. His response was "NO. Mom. There was SOMETHING. It wasn't a hog, it wasn't a coyote, it wasn't a deer. It was as tall as the tallow tree on the tree line and stood on two legs. It was hairy and big. It had big eyes and when it saw us it turned and ran into the woods". He mentioned that just a few minutes before seeing the unidentified creature, they had heard what they thought was a woman scream. I told him it may have just been a panther, although I've not ever seen them out there. I kept dismissing his claims of seeing bigfoot and the more I dismissed him, the angrier he got. This is where I started to wonder what if anything the boys had really seen. I asked why they didn't shoot at it (they both had 12 gauge shot guns with them) and his reply was "we were too scared, we just wanted to get out of there".

As a side note, this kid truly does not scare easily. We moved out there from the Newport subdivision in Crosby, Texas which is reportedly haunted and the basis for the Poltergeist movies (look up the Black Hope Horror). Him and his friends never claimed to see any ghosts or paranormal activities and in fact used to laugh at other who claimed to have encountered anything. They would tell tease them about the boogeyman and other fictional characters, so for him to be so adamant about this encounter is unusual.

Sounds:
The emulation of a woman screaming
