- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1b A report investigation results in a sasquatch observation or the documentation of clear tracks or other forms of physical evidence by an investigator.
- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 1d
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1d A visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility involving two or more reliable observers, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
This can probably all be explained away, but 100% of this happened, and it’s a bit strange to have experienced it. My son and I went deer hunting last year in one of the WMAs. We took a canoe up river several miles and found a good spot to hunt. It was thick, right alongside the river, and full of walnuts, acorns, pecans, you name it. The 1st afternoon/evening was relatively quiet. We didn’t see much of anything. As the sun went down, my son and I sat by a feeder creek for a while, just taking in the moonlight. We then got in the canoe, we had head lamps, and thought we’d try and see how far we could make it up the feeder creek. It was dead quiet, and peaceful. We made it maybe 50 yards in a very narrow creek, and suddenly we heard the distinct sound of something being thrown in the water right behind us. Then, it happened again. We didn’t have time to see what may have been thrown, but it was big, like the size and weight of a brick. You could really hear the water displacement, and the concussion. In other words, IT WAS NOT A FISH. If it were a walnut, or a branch, then it certainly didn’t sound like it, and it happened two distinct times, not right at the same time, 5 seconds apart or so.
My son and I turned the canoe around, and had a short discussion about it as we headed out of the feeder creek and into the river. We both like the idea of bigfoot, watch the shows, etc.. but we are pretty skeptical. We went over what it could have been.. even the notion of another hunter trying to scare us.. but, we had head lamps, and we didn’t hear anything running off, and we didn’t see anything, and to make it to that spot on foot would be very difficult and was miles away from a road. One of the other campers suggested it was a beaver slapping the water with its tail.. Maybe, but that was a very small feeder creek and it would have had to follow us, and then spooked I guess.
We made it maybe several hundred yards down the main river, and suddenly we heard two hogs fighting.. we assume fighting because they were very loud, aggressive sounding, and you could hear branches braking, LOUD AND POWERFUL. Probably fighting over food. Then, in all the noise, we heard what sounded like a screech, scream.. then, hoots.. to me it sounded like an owl. As soon as this sounded out, the hogs went totally silent.. immediately. Weird right? My son and I were all smiles… too ironic, but totally explainable. But being there, you couldn’t help from feeling strange, excited, and it was all surreal.
The next day, we went back to our spot for our morning hunt. I sat my son in a little clearing, told him to stay put, and he could still see our canoe. I, wanted to work my way along the river, to see what was up ahead of us. After about 30 minutes of slowly making way, I jumped 2 hogs, and shot one of them. The one I shot was a 150lb pregnant sow. I got my son, we gutted it, and there were 4 babies about 1lb each or smaller.. I didn’t feel bad, it was a very good kill, and good for population control. We got the canoe, got the hog, and made it back to camp. We cleaned the hog, had lunch, had an awesome day, and headed back for the afternoon hunt, at that same spot.
This time, I told my son where to go, and I wanted him to do a little hunting on his own.. I told him to stay by the river, so he wouldn’t get lost. He made it back to the hog kill spot.. He said all the babies had been moved away from the gut pile, the membrane taken off, and they were placed in a perfect circle, touching head to back feet. He also said he jumped buzzards off the gut pile. So, I said, well, they moved the baby pigs then.. he said it really didn’t look like that, and they didn’t pick at them or eat them. I didn’t go look because I just wanted to sit still, keep quiet and hunt, because it was getting later in the afternoon. We didn’t make it back after that evening hunt, we were tired of paddling and finished our hunt on foot, not far from camp.
So, what were we experiencing? Seems very strange, and like I said, it can all be explained. But being there and witnessing this was a surreal experience.
