Witness Account:
first sighting was on an equestrian trail not half a mile from the equestrian camp site some time around 4pm it was about elbow height ( i'm 5'7) black fur thick legs didn't get to see it's face i don't know how to describe it's running across other than a gallop... it was not walking pace but relatively fast ... crossed maybe 100 ft or so in front of us, we stopped and waited for it to pass by and out of sight before turning around and going back to the camp... the next night 2 am one ( probably the same one , unsure ) was inches away from our friends tent... he was woken up by the grunting/breathing he called me and i got to listen as well as hear it roar ... i flashed a flash light at it's eye's hoping it would scare off ... it did, then we woke up the other 4 people in the camp site and we all took off.
Physical evidence:
got the hell out of there because i didn't know anything about bears and assumed the worst.
Sounds:
grunting, heavy breathing, roar...
