Witness Account:
My husband and i were night fishing at lake ray roberts saturday night as we have done for he past two months, we both were hearing things in th bushes behind us as we were on the dock fishing. My husband looked back once and saw a raccoon on the bank, and then it went on into the woods. A little bit after that we smelt an awful smell that we had never smelt before, almost like a rotting dead animal, but the strange thing was the smell was gone in about 4-5 minutes. We soon forgot that as i caught a fish and my husband was helping me get it off the hook and onto the stringer while i held our little coleman lantern. I looked up and I saw two red eyes looking at us from the path on the hill. i told my husband to look up there something was watching us, when we both started realizing this thing that was watching us had to at least be 8 to 10 feet tall, due to we walk that path to our room and have for the last couple of months of staying out there. I became immediatly scared for I started trying to rationalize what it could be and not having a good light to see, but nothing we could come up with would have eyes that high off the ground. I turned to complete panic mode, it stared down at us for at least 5-6 minutes, just watching us. We only had one way up that hill to our room and it was to go by where this thing was once standing. I am never one to be irrational or believe in things i havent seen, but this had me convinced it was not any animal that are to be in that area. I am still shaken by this that i wont go back without a gun, and i dont even own a gun. My huband and i are both convinced it was something that was watching us but at the same time, and neither of us have ever been convinced of "big foot" or anything until that night, i even asked the lady when i checked out if their had been anyone else see anything and she pretty much laughed at me and said it was probably a racoon in a tree, well i went back to look at the area where we saw this and it was a baby tree that couldnt hold a bird must less a raccoon. i wish someone could check this place out i know we are not crazy.
Sounds:
we heard what we thought was a loud scream but it was not like an animal or human, it was weird to describe, we also heard allot of little splashes in the water behind us that was to shallow to be a fish almost like rocks hitting it but we couldnt see with it being dark
Additional observations:
we smelt the smell of a what smelt like a dead animal but it didnt last long which we couldnt figure out due to the wind didnt shift at all, and it was at nihgt which we couldnt fiure out how it got so strong and dissappeared so quickly.
