Witness Account:
I was on my way home from the gym (which is close to where I live). I moved to Texas in May of 2011 from Lexington, KY. I say that because we have actually started to feel acclimated to the wildlife, trees, and plants etc. Deer are very common all over here, and are often in people's yards etc. I share all of this to give up some preliminary to what happened. I left the YMCA, which has a long drive way.. maybe 1/4 of a mile. The driveway ends at a 2 lane highway. I was waiting on traffic and was looking straight ahead probably thinking about work that I was returning to. I noticed something very large in the wooded area across the highway maybe 35 yards away. It was moving very fast from my left to right(I believe that is from East to West). It was very odd. My mind said, something is there that doesn't belong. It's a really hard thing to describe. It all happened very fast. Next thing I know about 8-10 deer literally jumped up from the ground as if they were lying there. I remember seeing them on the move and their tails up in the air as I recall the whiteness. I could tell they were spooked and stressed. They ran also to the West, and back further into the wooded area. I know this sounds strange, but somehow I just knew this thing was hunting them. It's weird, but somehow I knew.

Whatever this thing was, it was very large. I am a big man 6' 4" and it was much taller than me. I did NOT see it's head, but I did see it's back. I thought, "That is huge". I remember the hair, because as my mind was attempting to assemble what I saw, I kept thinking, "What the hell has hair like that around here?" It was long, oddly reminded me of the hair you see on an Orangatang(spelling) but a thicker coat. The hair color for some reason reminded me of the tones you see in a St. Bernard. It was very loud here as we had major winds here with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. So, it was already an unusual day.

It's a busy road and I didn't go across the street at first to investigate. I told my partner about it later that day, and we decided to head over there after heading in to Austin. There is what I thought was a gravel road adjacent to where it happened, and when I went down it I realized that it is actually someone's driveway. I pulled down inside and pointed out where I saw it etc..

I wish I had more to share, I have thought about going over there tomorrow afternoon and asking the home owner if I could look around the front for tracks.
