- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.

- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
It was back in the summer of 1967. I had left Calif.and heading back home to MA. My car had broken down in TX. and I started to hitch-hike on Interstate 30 East. It was late at night when a farmer dropped me off at an intersection crossroad. And told me, I should wait there until daylight if I wanted to do any walking. There was an all night gas station on the West side of Hwy 30. After I had gotten tired of just waiting there for about an hour or so, I decided to do a little walking. It was a farm house on the right side heading east, and it was very swampy after the farm on the right and the left side of the road. The more I walked, the more darker it seemed to get. I could barely see the light at the gas station. The land was very flat. I could hear a dog barking at the farm house as I walked down the Hwy.past it. I could see the yard light and noticed some one came out of the house and took the dog inside. I could hear the frogs and crickets all around me. When the gas station light got really small.(about what looked to be about one miles away or so) Once in a while a truck would fly past me and I could see by its lights, there was a sign post that held up a large Hwy sign across the road. I walked to that post and decided to wait there. That's when I heard something far off in the distant. All of a sudden, everything got really quiet in this swamp. I could not hear anything at all. That's when I heard that sound again. It sounded like a high pitch scream. Like a Mountain Lion or some other big cat. I thought, if I started to make some noise, what ever it was would hear me and stay away. That was my second mistake. The more noise I made, the closer it came. I could hear its screaming as it got closer. I can make the sound, but its hard to put into words. At one point in time, it got so dark, I could not hardly see my hand when I put it out in front of me. What ever it was, it came right up to me and I could feel its hot breath on my face as it made to loudest scream and I thought I was going to have a heart attack right there on the spot. I do not remember turning around, but I found myself running faster then I could ever thought possible. If I tried to stop, I knew I would have fallen over on my face. I found myself across the road of that gas station and this was the time I saw that chain link fence in the middle of the island in between the Hwy. with water on both sides of that fence, and with out even given it a second thought, I was in the air and I cleared that fence and the water also. (what looked like to be a four foot fence) Once over on the other side I was now still running for all I was worth up to that gas station. When I got to the front doors, I collapsed on the ground outside. The mechanic that was working there, came out and seeing me on the pavement, asked if I wanted him to call the Ambulance? I could not speak at all, I could hardly breath. I just shook my head no. After awhile, he asked if I was alright enough for him to go back to work inside.I again, shook my head up and down. He then went inside and got me water to drink. I could hardly get any down. He asked if I was going to be alright and I shook my head yes. He then went back inside to his work that was waiting for him. When I could breath better and my heart slowed down once more. I walked inside and asked him "What the Hell kind of animals he had there?"
After I told him my story, he asked if I saw what it looked like. I told him no, but I felt it hot breath in my face. He told me, every one in that area heard and knew it was something, but when they tried putting their dogs on its scent, the dogs would refuse to follow the trail. This is something I would not care to ever experience, ever again.
