Witness Account:
I had already seen this creature before when I was 10 years old. Tried to tell family members and they didn't believe me. My brother had experience hearing something beat two rocks together at the lower half of our property by our pond. We lived in a remote area with a creek on the property next to ours. The first time I saw it I was 10 years old and I was by myself. It was leaning against a tree. I don't know how long it had been watching me but when I saw it I took off running. It could have easily caught me if it had wanted to. I ran into the house and told my mother and I wouldn't dare go back outside. My sister heard it scream one night and her husband was scared enough that he got his gun out of the car. I didn't hear it scream until I was 11 and I will never forget the sound it made. We moved to Dallas and went back to the old house to get some things we had left behind. My brother went to the local store which was about 5 miles away and my father and mother and I stayed behind. Daddy decided to build a fire in the old wood stove and went outside to chop up some kindling. He only had a hammer and something he was using as a chisel. As he broke up the wood he would occasionally miss and hit the concrete steps with the hammer. I don't know what signal he was sending but I noticed something ran behind the house. I could see underneath the house into the backyard from where I was setting because this was a mobile home and we had taken the skirting from around the bottom. The yard light was still on. When I saw this object behind the house I didn't know what it was, I kept watching. It was looking in the kitchen window, then when it trotted to the living room window that's when I noticed the hair on its legs moved. It was matted and long. The only thing I could think to do was yell at my dogs to get it because it was rounding the corner of the house. I ran to my Dad and tried to tell him in a calm voice to get in the house. My father asked what was wrong all I could say is trust me get in the house. When I yelled at my dogs to get this creature they barked a couple of times and I think they got the scent because they went under the house and started whining at it. They gave me enough time to get myself and my Dad in the house. My Dad called the local store that my brother went to and told them there was an emergency and send him home ASAP. When he got there he had his gun but didn't know what he was looking for. He came in the house and said he didn't see anything. I tried to keep a calm voice because I felt like if I had screamed that it would have responded differently. It didn't beat on the house, it didn't scream or growl it just responded to him hitting the hammer on the front steps. Later that night I was asleep with my mother on a mattress in her room. I woke up when the room went dark and saw the outline of this creature looking through the window at me. I looked at it for awhile but couldn't see the facial features just the outline. Then it walked to the other windows. I never turned to look because I was scared of what I might see. I'm a 40 year old mother of three and I still have nightmares about this creature. I wanted to be the first to film this creature and often wonder what would have happened if I had never moved away. I had a hair sample and left it in the old house because no one would believe me. I wish I still had it. The sample I found was on a strand of barb wire fence that separated our property behind our house. We never had any cows on the property or anything else that could have left the hair behind. The hair was matted at one end and was orangutan red and about six inches long. I love the outdoors and all animals and I really don't want to see this creature harmed. I often thought that it stayed around herds of cattle thinking maybe it was carnivorous. As a child I would even leave food tied up for it from the top of a tree. I don't know what got it but never found the remains of what I had left. Like I said before it could have easily chased me but it didn't. I have heard another scream before in a different area in Texas but this one was more aggressive. I saw it at a distance on the neighbor's property and got my brother to look just as it went into the trees. Please find this creature and bring this mystery to rest. I'm so tired of trying to make people believe me and all they can do is doubt me. I never found any tracks but the Dallas Times Herald reporters did when they came down and investigated. They made plaster casts of the footprints. The footprints were found approx. 15 miles way from where we lived. Two elderly ladies saw the creature when it ran in front of their car as they were going home from church one night. My Father always said it whistled but I never heard it. I don't recall a smell either but I do know what I saw and the scream I'll never forget.
