Witness Account:
I was on break at the still under construction new Fox building in The Woodlands when I saw something big move out from behind the trees for a moment. It was something I still can?t explain. All I know is that it was like nothing I?ve ever seen before in my life and I spend a great deal of time in the outdoors. I still haven't told friends and family about this. I am from California and work in broadcast. I was brought out to Texas to help out on the broadcast side of the build.
Sounds:
Didn't hear anything.
Additional observations:
Big and upright, much taller than me.
Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): Jeremy D. Wells
This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Montgomery County, Texas, The Woodlands, in November 2007.
I interviewed the witness in depth; overall my assessment was that he was very honest, very open, and very much convinced of what he had seen. He was confident and calm, and answered all of my questions in a straightforward manner.
In 2007, the witness had been sent to The Woodlands to help with the construction of the Fox Sports Facility on the south end. The encounter occurred while he was outside taking a cigarette break. In an open area of very dense woods surrounding the complex, he spotted something out of the corner of his eye as it appeared to step out from behind a tree. The witness watched it disappear into the woods. The witness did not see the subject long enough to make out any real details beyond that it was upright, bipedal, covered with dark hair and tall; the height was what really stood out to him.
The claimant did talk with other witnesses at the site. He said that a couple of days after his sighting a security guard, an ex-Marine, had contacted the Sheriff's department after having a sighting.
After the security guard?s reported sighting, the certainty of what the witness had seen became cemented in his head and he came back to walk the area with a friend. The six-foot-one-inch witness had a friend stand in his position while he walked the area, and they determined that the subject was probably a foot taller than the witness.
The witness seemed relieved to have someone he could talk openly with about his encounter, mentioning at one point that when he had brought his sighting up to his wife, she laughed it off.
After seeing the ?Swamp Stalker? episode of MonsterQuest, the witness found our organization online while having his morning coffee and contacted us from there.
The witness and I discussed the possibility of black bear in the area, with me noting that it would be only slightly less spectacular to have a Louisiana black bear wander that far west, but he was adamant that it was not a bear. As the witness noted, the subject was upright and "awful big."
