Witness Account:
I was checking out this area in north Hopkins County where I have hunted in the past. I was in a vehicle returning from the woods. I was pre-hunting an area so therefore I had no gun on me, it was out of season.
I wasn't sure if it was still available to hunt. I noticed three ape-like creatures out in a field together. I stopped my vehicle and looked at them through binoculars and noticed a large male with genitalia. I could make out his chest muscles like a gorilla. Its head was shaped like that of a gorilla. Large legs but I couldn't tell how tall it was except much taller than me. It hair was darkish brown. The second was sitting down indian style back towards me but was darker. I think she was female. The third appeared to be maybe a juvenile standing up playing with a long stick in its hand. It was more like a monkey
that could stand upright. I watched them from a good distance for more than 15 minutes.
Finally I left in complete awe. I was kind of shocked and told my family that I seen some apelike creatures in the woods. I could not believe that I had seen them especially out in the open. I haven't visited that area since but would be happy to show where I spotted them. I have seen and heard other signs but did not put it all together as being bigfoot evidence.

This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Hopkins County, Texas, in the fall of 1999.
I extensively interviewed this witness; he claimed that he has had a history of possible sasquatch activity in an area where he used to hunt, but he no longer goes there because of these encounters. He claimed to have experienced musky odors similar to a skunk; large, human-like feces; pieces of wood left on the trail bent into a circle; large tracks in a creek; and tree knocks. Having investigated this area with NAWAC investigators, I have heard a series of tree knocks that are always in a set of three continuous knocks. Without telling the witness this, he said he always heard tree knocks in a series of three. Is this attributed to a bigfoot or is it merely a coincidence?
The subjects were reportedly observed by the witness from about 100 yards using his binoculars. The witness said that the subject he perceived as the male had a face and chin that stuck out like a gorilla or chimpanzee; it was not flat. He further described the subject as having a conical head, with legs and arms that were very muscular, much larger than him. It was the witness's perception that the juvenile seemed to be pestering the large male with a stick. The witness claimed that the large male would purse and lick its lips when the small one would poke him as though he was annoyed.
Our witness thought it was highly strange that he saw viewed the subjects in the early morning while he was driving down a dirt road; they were allegedly not far from a house. The subjects were supposedly out in a field that had tree cover around it, but there was a house only 200 yards away. As the witness recalled, another car passed, but the passengers did not look over into the field. The man said he thought these animals came out of the deeper woods that are in the park because some construction was under way in this area.
As I listened to the witness it became apparent that he believed that he saw something extraordinary and that he was serious about his encounter. He said he would be glad to take a lie detector test to prove the veracity of his claims.
Having investigated this area for many years with the NAWAC, I know the area to support a variety of wildlife and would appear as proper habitat. I believe that it is possible that the witness may have indeed had an encounter.

They concurred with my assessment regarding the plausibility and possibility of an encounter as described by the witness based on their evaluation of the witness and the area. The Worshams will continue to research this area in the future and check on any updates and report them as they may occur.
