Dirt Bike Rider Has Close Sighting of Large Hairy Bipedal Creature

Report Details

Occurrence date: Summer/1993
Location: Mclennan County, TX
Nearby/Vicinity: Waco
Time / Conditions: 10:00 — Clear morning sunlight, but shadowy under the trees where I was riding.
# of Witnesses: 1

Witness Account:
In the summer of '93 my brother, myself, and some buddies of ours went dirt bike riding out by the "Twin Bridges" in Speegleville, Texas. Speegleville is basically part of Waco, Texas. During the summertime the area we were riding in was always filled with people riding dirt bikes and ATVs of some sort, even people with 4x4s would be in the mud. The area we rode in was next to Lake Waco and also out by Hog Creek.

There wasn't but a few other bikers out that morning other than us. We all took turns riding due to the fact that there were 3 bikes and about 5 of us to ride. My brother, myself, and my brother's friend took off first (about 9:30am) and started riding through the trails towards the back area where the woods are more dense, but have hills and pits to ride through and jump. There are also trails made from previous bikers. We split up and all took different trails that lead to where we were going. We meet up and rode for a while on some of the trails split up and headed back to the truck to gas up and give a turn to our other buddies.

I decided to take a trail that lead down by the lake. I stopped by the lake and looked out across to take in the morning air, smell, looks, just surroundings in general. I looked at my watch it was about 10:00am, then I had one of those feelings you get when someone or "SOMETHING" is watching you. So I turned my head slowly around to the right, at first I didn't see anything, but as I looked a little harder from behind a tree, about 20 - 30 feet from me I saw a pair of eyes. Dark in color. I can only assume because again the woods where dense in this area and caused more shadows and dark spots because of less sunlight coming through the treetops. As I looked closer I saw it step out some from behind the tree. Partly behind the tree, but half out. I saw an arm which was furry or hairy and hung down low. The face, what I saw, did not have much fur or hair. Of what I did see of the whole body, it was covered by fur or hair. I stand 5'11", so I would estimate it stood between 6'6" to 7'. The fur or hair was a dark brown color, I noticed it blended well next to the tree it was standing behind. Not easily noticeable unless you really looked hard. I believe if its eyes were closed, I would not have seen it. I did not see the feet because of some small shrubs next to the tree. I did not notice any other animals around at the time.

We had been riding this spot for a few years and have come across whitetail deer, hogs, birds, and other small various animals. We also have gone fishing out there. No noises or sounds came from it. It just stood there looking at me. As I observed all this and took it in, it had been maybe a minute or two for it to register and my next reaction of slight fear and shock. Then I shifted into first gear and raced out of the area. I headed back up to the truck loaded my dirt bike in the trailer and got in the truck.

I told my brother and buddies what I saw, of course they laughed and unloaded the bike and kept on riding some more. I stayed by the truck until we left that day. We went back out to ride a couple of weeks later but I did not see anything again.
