- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1b A report investigation results in a sasquatch observation or the documentation of clear tracks or other forms of physical evidence by an investigator.
- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1d A visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility involving two or more reliable observers, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
I am a security officer located at a facility being built in The Woodlands. I was on the graveyard shift with another officer, as we were patrolling the parking lot after making our rounds through the facility. The parking lot was not lit up due to the fact that they had not set up the lighting yet. The constuction trailers are the only lighted areas other than in the building. We came to a stopping point in our rounds when I just glanced over towards the trailers. I had to make a double take when I saw a figure walking slowly by. We were roughly 30 yards away, and I alerted my co-officer as to what I was seeing. We stood there in shock not believing our eyes. The figure was at least 7' tall with a sort of hunched back. The stride he was taking was much more larger than a normal man. Company policy states that I must contact the local authorities, so I called 911, and described what I saw to the operator. The figure walked into the woods out of light.
Hand/foot prints:
The area where the sighting took place is paved, and it rained later that night, so no tracks were found in the woods after I further investigated.
Sounds:
I was not close enough to hear any, but often, there are sounds of low moans coming through the woods. Also there are sounds of breaking tree branches in the middle of the night.
Additional observations:
No smells of the ordinary. There are pot-o-potties where the sighting took place, and that is a pretty over powering smell.
There are many Bayous around, but the closet river is San Jacinto River.

This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Montgomery County, Texas, The Woodlands, in September 2007.
I interviewed this witness at length about the incident. He was a no-nonsense ex-military type who was quite straightfoward during our discussions. He made it clear that the description he had given was as precise as he could make it; he merely described what he saw and it remained for us to determine what the subject was.
When I asked him what he thought he saw, he replied as if I had asked a ridiculous question and as if the answer should be obvious: "Well I don't know of too many things that are seven feet tall, covered with hair and walk off into the woods at 2:20 in the morning."
The witness said he was sure that the subject was covered in dark hair, although he could not pinpoint a particular color. He was certain that it was seven feet tall or taller, walked with a slight slump and had a powerful gait with long strides. The witness was certain that the subject had a bit of an "odd" arm swing. He was not able to determined facial details at all, but he was absolutely certain that the subject was not a human. He indicated that he was truly shocked when he saw it. He said even had he seen the face, and the face had turned out to be more human-like, that because of the subject's behavior, overall hairy and muscular appearance, gait and arm swing, what he saw was very clearly not human.
The witness said that as a matter of procedure, the "intruder" warranted a call to 911. The 911 operator chuckled a bit when the witness explained to her what he had seen. The witness stated that he said something like: "You're not going to believe this, but it looked like a sasquatch." (The call has been verified with the 911 service; we are attempting to obtain a copy of the recording).
Officers were dispatched to the site, but by the time they arrived, according to the witness, the subject was no longer there, at least that he and the officers could determine. The officers did not make light of it, but probably assumed that the subject was a human prowler of some type, and the witness did not press the issue.
This witness seemed quite shocked when I informed him of another recent reported sighting less than one mile away from the construction facility where he reported having his sighting. The other reported Montgomery County sighting allegedly occurred a mere five weeks later than this one. The witnesses indicated that they had no knowledge of each other or each other's reports.
There was one other security officer involved in this incident, but the individual declined to be interviewed for this investigation.
