- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
I went to my hunting lease for the weekend with a couple of hunting buddies to do clean-up work after Hurricane Rita in preperation of this year's white tail hunting season. I had a dentist appointment 30 minutes away in Houston at 10am the following morning and decided to stay Sunday night by myself. I turned in around 11pm Sunday and was awaken by two packs of coyotes at 2am Monday morning, one on the north side of the camp and the other on the South about 200 yards in either directions. The coyotes had a howl-off for about 20 minutes and I then fell back to sleep. At 3:30am I was again awakened by group of wild hogs grunting and squealing at a deer blind with a corn feeder which is east of camp approx. 300 yards through the woods. I quickly fell back to sleep. At 4:30 I was jolted from sleep by a scream/roar that made the hair on my head stand straight up. A few seconds later I heard the same sound again. This time it took me about 45 minutes to fall back to sleep. I got out of bed at 7:15 and made a cup of coffee. At 7:30 I was walking aroung camp enjoying my morning coffee and walked out to the road. While standing in the middle of the dirt road facing east I again heard the scream/roar approx. 250 yards down the road on the left side. A few seconds later as I was RUNNING back to the cabin to grab my Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun I heard it again. It is my assumption that what ever was making this noise was trying to intimidate me and doing a good job of it. I've hunted this piney wood property for over four years. It has deer, feral hogs, coyotes, fox, squirrel, bobcat, numerous species of birds, plenty of snakes, rabbits, raccoon and turtles. None of the animals/reptiles that I know of that are indigenious to this area could create the sound I heard four times in a 3 hour span.
Physical evidence:
I will check the water holes for any prints the next time I go the area.
Additional observations:
If this makes sense.... RRRAAAaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! 2-3 seconds long.
Investigator's Observations
Met the witness on site, 29 October 2005. The site is quite remote and densely wooded. It is a hunting lease that is shared with other hunters. To the witness's knowledge, he was the only one there at the time of the incident.
Upon our arrival at the site, the witness wasted no time in taking us to the area where the vocalizations seemed to originate, which was approximately 300 yards east of camp.
We searched the area and found nothing unusual.
The witness showed us where he was when he heard the first two vocalizations, (at camp, in bed) and where he was when he heard the last two, (standing on the camp road looking east). The witness told us that the first two screams differed somewhat from the last two. Apparently the first two sounds were more like raspy, loud howls, that trailed downward in pitch, before ending. The description is like that given by other witnesses who have reported possible sasquatch vocalizations.
We played the Ohio Howl for the witness and he remarked that it was similar but what he heard was more raspy. The witness had earlier listened to the NAWAC's recorded, Big Thicket Howl and said it also was kindred, but what he heard sounded more aggressive.
After hearing the first two screams, the witness was quite alarmed, and he told us that he was not able to soundly sleep. At the time, he had no idea at all what caused the sounds. Because of the volume, tone and duration of the two vocalizations, the witness was completely at a loss as to what indigenous animal could have been responsible. He told us that in his mind he ran through the entire list of known animals in the area, and he could not reasonably attribute the sounds to any of them. The witness simply could not believe the volume with which the unknown screamer produced its vocalizations; the volume of the screams might be compared to the volume of vocalizations produced by elephants or African lions.
The witness heard the last two vocalizations after he had prepared coffee and was standing on the sandy camp road looking east. The sounds that he heard now were construed by the witness as being VERY aggressive and intended solely for him. He estimated that the intimidating roars came from an area just off the road about 120 yards east of where he was standing. Although there was no way to know for sure, the witness believed that the animal was watching him when it roared, and did not want him there. The witness hurriedly turned back to camp and heard the same intimidating roar again. According to the witness, the intimidation display of this unseen animal was quite effective; he promptly left camp.
When he returned home, the witness informed his wife of what he had experienced and she told him that she had read about the Texas Bigfoot Research Center in a recent newspaper article. Unable to account for the vocalizations, the witness then sought to contact us.
Summation: The property is west of and not far from the Trinity River, which forms the unofficial western extremity of the Big Thicket, an area of many reported encounters with the wild man. Also, the Sam Houston National Forest, another area of many reported encounters with upright, hairy bipeds, is not far to the north and northwest of the lease. It is possible that the witness heard a sasquatch as it passed through the woods 300 yards east of his camp, and that he later experienced some sort of vocal intimidation display, not unlike that of great apes such as gorillas and chimpanzees, as it saw him step into the road.
