- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1b A report investigation results in a sasquatch observation or the documentation of clear tracks or other forms of physical evidence by an investigator.
- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 1d
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1d A visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility involving two or more reliable observers, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
We were riding 4 wheelers on trails at Ebenezer Park around 11:00 am. My friends and I started out down the trail that runs between Ebenezer and Boykin Springs. We had stopped to check the bike for proper equipment and make sure everything was OK before proceeding. We heard something back at the trucks. The guys headed back to the trucks to see if someone was breaking into our vehicles. My girlfriend and I hung back so we could spend some time together and talk.
We were there for at least 15 minutes and we heard what sounded like a deer walking up on us, so we waited to see what it was. When she stepped out, it was awesome. I had read a bunch of books about bigfoot and wondered what it would be like to see one. I got my chance. She (you could tell it was a female) stood against a tree like a construction worker leaning against a shovel. The funny thing about the sighting was I felt like I was in no harm. It was maybe 20 feet away from me and at no time did I feel like I was going to be harmed. My girlfriend and I sat on the bike for a good 20 minutes. You could tell that she (the bigfoot) was as curious about us as we were of her. She actually didn't try to run.
I had grown up in a little town in East Texas and had squirrel hunted all through the woods and wandered the same woods when I was around 15, but this was the first time seeing this. All I could think about was how she looked. How something like this had never been killed. Then after a while, she just started to really stare at us. Then it hit me that my dad had told me when I was in the woods that animals hate to be stared at. They get panicky about it. About this time I thought that it might be a good idea to go our separate ways. So I cranked up the bike, and when I did, she just disappeared into the woods. I told the guys what happened and they told me that I was crazy, that there was no such thing.
Sounds:
None at the time of the encounter, but we have heard growls in the area at other times that didn't sound like anything we had ever heard before.
Additional observations:
Large female, around 7 feet tall, weighing about 450 pounds. Long brown hair. The eyes were black. There was not a smell.

This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Jasper County, Texas on 5 April 1985.
I interviewed the witness on 25 August 2003. The witness grew up in the Jasper area and had spent all his young life hunting the woods around the sighting area. The witness visits the area monthly; his parents still live there. The state has since banned riding ATVs through the area.
The incident reportedly occurred in the Ebenezer Park area just northwest of Jasper, Texas. During the interview, the witness recalled that he and his girlfriend were sitting on his ATV talking, when they heard the sounds of something approaching through the woods. They expected to see a deer, but were shocked when something else evidently emerged.
The witness remembered that at the time, he and his girlfriend saw what he described as an upright hair-covered animal of some sort, presumably a bigfoot, as it calmly stopped and leaned its shoulder against a tree about 20 feet from them. The witness explained that the subject was covered in long hair from head to toe, had large breasts which were hair-covered also. He remembered that long hair covered most of the subject?s face but the eyes were very clearly visible. The witness described the eyes as ?black, large and round? and seemed to have an expression of curiosity. The witness told of how after a few minutes, the subject's eyes seemed to express fear or anger and at that time the witness began to feel threatened; it was now time to leave. After he started the ATV, the witness glanced back and the subject was gone. The subject made no noise and the witness recalled no odor. The witness estimated that the subject had been approximately 7 feet tall and his best guess was that it weighed about 450 pounds.
Since that time, and in the same general area, the witness has heard many loud vocalizations that he suspects are bigfoot-related. The witness?s son reportedly caught a brief glimpse of what he claimed was a bigfoot in the same area in May 2003.
