- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
My friend and his wife went to my hunting lease. He came back to my office and told me that his wife saw an ape-like creature. He said it hid behind a tree but she did see it well. He said she watched it for a few seconds and it ran off. He said they thought it was an ape that was wild or had escaped from someone. He has not spoken of it since.
Sounds:
Sometimes at night or predawn I have a whistle type noise. I have heard this sound several times. Always moving in a straight line. I have asked people about these sounds, everyone said it is birds. I have never seen a bird make this sound.
Additional observations:
It stood about five feet tall. He said its hair was light or reddish in color and long enough for the wind to blow it.
Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): Charles DeVore
This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in rural Panola County, 2001.
I contacted the person who submitted this report by phone 19 August 2003. We talked at length and I found him to be quite open with his answers; he volunteered to put me in touch with the actual witnesses.
I interviewed a husband and wife team on 25 August 2003. They both seemed to be extremely experienced in hunting, fishing and the outdoors in general. They informed me that they take their son hunting and fishing often.
The wife was the one who claimed the actual sighting and she seemed happy to hear from someone who would not make a joke of it. She was very outgoing and my impression was that she was straightforward and truthful with her answers. She did not claim to know what it was that she reportedly saw, but she did provide an excellent description.
The witness told me that she had never before seen anything like what she saw that day and has not seen anything like it at any time afterwards. Having later seen a sketch of a sasquatch, the witness asserted that what she saw was quite similar physically except smaller, but what she saw did not appear to be exclusively bipedal.
As the witness recalled, she was sitting in her deer stand one very cold day in November 2001. She was quietly watching squirrels play, when a hog came into sight on her left; she was watching the hog root around when something caught her eye to her far right. As the witness described it, in a blur of movement an unidentified animal leapt to the side of a tree approximately 80 yards away. The witness's perception was that the subject appeared to have all four feet grasping the tree trunk. Next, the witness recalled, the subject quickly moved around the tree to the far side, apparently still with all four feet grasping the tree trunk close to the ground. After looking around for a few seconds, the subject jumped around and disappeared in a flash running on all four legs. Running movement was with legs stretched out front and rear together. During this few seconds, the other animals (squirrels and hog) just looked at it and resumed feeding, acting as all was normal.
While the event was quite startling to the witness, she believed it must be living in the area as the other animals paid no particular attention to it.
The Subject:
While it never stood on its hind legs in her sight, it appeared to have a combined body and leg height to be about 5 feet tall and appeared to be very muscular. It was covered with long hair, appearing to be more of a dirty white. Its hair was long enough to flow with every movement. Its head was round with the same long hair. The head, with long flowing hair, was squatty on the body with no visible neck. The witness could not make out the facial features. It made no vocalization and there was no odor detected. The witness attempted to match a known animal with what she saw and the closest, in her estimation, was a small ape. The description given by the witness also seems to match other eye witness accounts of juvenile sasquatches.
The incident reportedly took place on a hunting lease located east of Carthage, Texas, slightly south of FM 2517 along the east side of the Sabine River bottoms.
