- Class 1b
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1b A report investigation results in a sasquatch observation or the documentation of clear tracks or other forms of physical evidence by an investigator.
- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 1d
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1d A visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility involving two or more reliable observers, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 2
- Class 2, Competency: Reports involving sightings by professionally trained or highly skilled observers.2 Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is exceptionally trustworthy, professionally trained, and experienced in the outdoors and/or is accustomed to looking for and recording details (e.g., biologist, anthropologist/archaeologist, ranger, trapper/tracker/seasoned hunter, bird watcher, game warden, naturalist, law enforcement), and other explanations can be reasonably excluded.
- Class 3a
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3a Investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot is a distinct possibility, the observer is credible, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3b
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

# of Witnesses:
Witness Account:
My wife and I were out on the Brazos River with some friends. We were fishing and swimming on a sand bar in the Goatneck bend of the river. A member of our party noticed someone moving around on a rock ledge up on the cliffs about 250-300 feet above the river. They were about 1/2 mile away from us. As we started watching, whatever it was started jumping around, waving its arms like it was trying to get our attention. It did get our attention. It was jumping around like it was playing. We were able to observe it for 5 to 10 minutes. It jumped from one rock ledge to another that was 15 feet away and 20 feet or so down. A person couldn't have made that jump. It then jumped into a gully and disappeared. We waited a long time to see if it would reappear, but it didn't.
Physical evidence:
We went over to the area to see if we could find any evidence, but there wasn't any. It was very rocky terrain. We did see a cedar tree that it was standing next to. The tree was taller than us and the animal we saw was taller than the tree.
Sounds:
We didn't hear any sounds. At other times we have heard strange sounds, mostly loud screams.
Additional observations:
We went over to the area to see if we could find any evidence, but there wasn't any. It was very rocky terrain. We did see a cedar tree that it was standing next to. The tree was taller than us and the animal we saw was taller than the tree. It was at least 8 feet tall, covered with dark brown hair. It had a human-form.
Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): Craig Woolheater
This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Johnson County, Texas on Lake Whitney in the early 1990s.
I interviewed the witness 6 September 2002. The witness is actually an acquaintance of my family. He had told my brother of this incident after my brother told him that I was involved in bigfoot research. The witness lives in the area of the incident. The site of the visual encounter is at the north end of Lake Whitney where the Brazos flows into the lake. There are very high limestone cliffs in this area, going up from the river.
The witness told me that he was out with his wife and friends, swimming and fishing from a sandbar in the Brazos River. It was a clear, hot, sunny day between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. As the witness recalled, he and the others were just out having a good time when one person noticed what they first thought was another person up on a rock ledge on the cliffs. The witness had the others look at the figure and they watched as it was jumping around on the ledge, waving its arms. As they watched it, they noticed that it looked very large, and was covered with dark brown hair. It had the shape of a person, but was much larger. It was about one-half mile away from where they were located, at an elevation of 250 - 300 feet above the river. They watched as the subject jumped from one rock ledge to another one that was 15 feet away horizontally and 20 feet down. They continued to watch it for five to ten minutes. They got the impression that it was playing around, jumping and waving its arms, maybe even to get their attention. They definitely believed that it saw them. It then jumped down into a gully and disappeared. The group had fully realized that what they had been watching was definitely was not a person. They waited around for awhile to see if it would reappear, but it never did.
The group hiked over to the area where the subject had been seen to see if there was any evidence. As the terrain was very rocky, they did not find any tracks or other evidence. They did see a cedar tree that the subject had been standing next to at one point. This tree was taller than them and the subject was taller than the tree. They estimated its height to have been at least eight feet. It did not make any sounds that they could hear, and they were too far away to detect any odors. They described it as being very tall, but not fat or bulky, even thin. It moved on two legs at all times, standing straight upright. Its arms hung down to knee level.
The land is now fenced in and is Corps of Engineer property. There are many caves in the area. The witness has heard many strange noises at night in the area. The ones that defy identification are described as screams. There are tales from people in the area of something large and hairy that is seen sometimes crossing the roads late at night. The people in the area aren't really concerned about it as they do not really know what it is.
