- Class 1c
- Class 1, Corroboration: Reports involving a sighting, and accompanied by another form of support.1c An investigator determines that a visual encounter with a sasquatch/bigfoot by a very reliable observer is a distinct possibility, tangible corroborating evidence is documented, and all other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
I was riding in the car with my friend, she was driving. It was the opening weekend of deer season, full moon, very bright. We were on a one lane gravel road in the Direct Bottoms. We saw less than 100 feet away from us a creature cross the road from left side of road to right. It was 7 to 8 feet tall, with long gray hair. It walked right in front of us. Its arms were longer than a man's, swinging them as it walked. It stepped right over a barbed-wire fence. A mile down the road, we turned around and got stuck in a wheat field. We were stuck 30 minutes. After we got the car unstuck, we went back the same way as we came in. We were scared that we would encounter the creature, but there was no sign of it.
I had heard stories about Bigfoot in Oklahoma. After all this time, I would love to see that creature again.
Physical evidence:
Didn't check for any.
Sounds:
Windows were rolled up, didn't hear any.
Additional observations:
7 to 8 feet tall, light gray in color. Long gray hair, laying down smooth from head to toe. Standing upright, longer arms than a man's. No reaction from the creature as the car approached. It walked fairly slow, in no hurry.
Investigator's Observations
Investigator(s): Craig Woolheater
This investigation was conducted as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred in Lamar County, Texas very near the Red River, in 1979.
I interviewed the witness on 1 May 2002. She explained to me that the event of 1979 has had a profound effect on her life and that it was an experience that she could never forget.
The witness described how the night unfolded as she and a friend were driving on a one-lane gravel road in the Direct Bottoms. She recalled that the moon was full and very bright and the day was the first day of deer season. The witness told me that as they were driving down the road, they saw a tall, hairy, grayish creature cross the road in front of them. She said that it was seven to eight feet tall and covered with smooth gray hair. She described its arms as being longer than human arms. The witness explained that the subject?s walk seemed deliberative and slow, as if it was in no hurry.
The witness recalled that she and her friend were fairly frightened; the area was very deserted. After proceeding about a mile down the road, they attempted to turn around in a wheat field; in the process the car got stuck. The witness had to get out and try to free the car. During this time, she was frightened because of what she and her friend had seen just minutes before. She remembered thinking it possible that the subject might still be in the area. After 30 minutes or so, they got the car free and drove out of the area on the same road; they did not see any sign of the subject.
I was not able to interview the other witness; the primary witness had not had contact with her friend in over 15 years. As such, this report is classified as a 3a, since the second witness could not be reached to corroborate the incident.
There were reports of a creature that was dubbed the "Manimal" that was supposedly seen in and around the Direct, Texas area in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This was reported in Fate Magazine in the September 1971 issue.
