Investigator's Observations

Investigator(s): Craig Woolheater

This investigation was conducted as a result of incidents that allegedly occurred in Lamar County, Texas in 1976 and in 2001.

I interviewed the witness on 20 March 2002. He has reportedly experienced two visual encounters, both in Lamar County. The first encounter was ostensibly at Pay Mayse Lake, in early Spring of 1976. He was 16 years old. The weather was nice with a full moon.

The witness indicated that he was camping with two other men at the area called Hippie Point on Pat Mayse Lake. The witness recalled that around 2:00 am, they heard movement sounds of something seemingly circling the camp. After a little while of listening to this, the campers decided to leave the campsite.

The witness chose to go to the observation tower on the dam of the lake. When crossing the dam he noticed something striking the guardrail on the road. He turned to see something lying on its back watching him from the guardrail. He could not make out the color of the subject, but because of the full moon he could see the form.

The witness went back to where his two friends were. They told him they had seen something following him. He told them what it was.

The second reported visual encounter was in March of 2001 around 9:00 am on a rainy day. The witness remembered that he was traveling down a county road where the Mallory Cemetery is located between Roxton and Ambia, Texas. Along the side of the road, in a ditch, was what the witness initially thought was a dog with long, reddish, brown hair. As he drove closer, the animal stood up on two legs and walked away. The witness said the subject appeared to be 6 feet tall and was a biped.

The witness turned around but found that the subject was no longer there. The witness recalled finding two tracks in the ditch.

The mother of the witness claimed to have heard vocalizations from the meadow on her property in 1999.
