Class 3c

Suspected Wood Ape activity with farm animals missing.

Report Details

Occurrence date: Winter/2002
Location: Lamar County, TX
Time / Conditions: Small community with lots of wooded area, backing up to the Wildlife Management area. There are beef cattle farms in the area, one dairy about 5 miles to the southeast. We also make cheese and butter for our own consumption so some waste is fed to the other farm animals.
# of Witnesses: 0

Witness Account:
Chickens missing, animals spooked, Dogs would not go where footprints on the trail to the chicken feathers were found. Following a trail through thick woods and undergrowth of briars and vines, the trail of broken branches led to a clearing that had been recently mowed with a brush hog. Small limbs had been thrown back into the mowed area, appearing to be freshly broken off of a nearby oak tree. In the damp leaves, impressions were visible and after moving a few leaves, a very large foot print was visible. They are very deep and twice as wide as a mans foot. The path of the footprints led on to an area with chicken feathers scattered all around but no skin or bones were left. The trail led on to a creek where large foot prints with obvious impressions of toes were visible in the sand. The door to the chicken coop was found unlatched 2 mornings in a row. It is checked nightly to make sure that it is latched.

Physical evidence:
Broken branches and footprints found.

Sounds:
A high pitched sound. I have heard the normal sounds around here, coyotes, bob cats, cougars, panthers, etc. and this is completely different, almost human but not quite.
