Witness Account:
My wife encountered a large primate/monkey-looking animal during a hiking trip below our property. Our property borders Texas State Game Management Land, approx 40,000 acres of which surrounds Pat Mayse Lake. She described it to me as being of about my height (6 ft 3 inches), and that it was slumped forward and over and frozen still, as if it had come to a stop in full stride. She said it stood motionless as if having being spotted, and turned sort of sideways and staring at her. The hands were visible, could see that it had a head on it, but face was obscured. She describes it further as being without clothes like an animal, and covered in hair, not necessarily as thick as a coat of hair, but more like a monkey, brown in color. She described it as being skinny and gaunt, or "poor looking". She could not determine sex of animal. She spotted it with binoculars, approx. 50 yards through the thick woods. She viewed it several times, and then lost view of it. She came back home and told me about it, and I submitted my second-hand account of her story, at the first credible looking Bigfoot website that I came across after a quick Yahoo search.

The wind may have been blowing from the North but I can't remember now (it was very cold during that period, and now several weeks have passed.) She approached it from the south, and from up above the area in elevation. She basically walked down to the site (in full camouflage coveralls) sat down on a log, looked through the binoculars and saw it. The wind was most likely blowing her scent downwind. And with the animal gathering up limbs and brush, it probably did not detect my wife's presence in time to flee, so it froze.

In my theory, when she lowered and re-raised the binoculars several times, this "cued" the animal to flee. Also, I happen to be good friends with one of my neighbors which also noticed strange events that same week (killed chickens, big foot prints). We made plaster cast of foot approx 18" long x 8.5" wide. Our belief is that they are attracted to old native pear trees which grow on both of our properties.

Sounds:
We have heard a wild howling sound similar to Bigfoot sounds on various websites.

Additional observations:
I noticed skunky smell several days afterwards. I sensed that the animal was nearby.
