- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3b Unidentifiable vocalizations were reported and there is accompanying tangible evidence to possibly indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot, the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.
- Class 3c
- Class 3, Credibility: Sightings or possible wood ape evidence reported by credible witnesses.3c No visual encounter occurred, but physical evidence was found to indicate the presence of a sasquatch/bigfoot (tracks, hair, scat, etc.), the observer is very reliable, and other sources can be reasonably ruled out.

Witness Account:
At approximately 0300 hrs in February of 2002, my dogs began to raise an alarm like I have never heard them do before. I slipped on my coveralls and grabbed my rifle with an extra magazine, then went out to investigate. My rottweiler was going ape pointing to the pasture across the road. At this time I noticed that every horse for a half mile in either direction was panicking and sounded scared half to death. I fired up my Q-beam light and swept the pasture but did not see anything, so I sent in my dog. Just as she cleared the fence, whatever was out there went from hooting and whistling to growling. My dog has never backed off from any threat but she was scared enough to come back over the fence and run under the house. I listened to whatever it was move through the brush. It was crushing tree limbs the size of a man?s wrist. After about 30 minutes everything settled down. But I was scared enough to go in the house. I had the feeling if I had run into whatever is bad enough to spook all the animals, even the sixty 7.62 mm rounds I had would not be enough.
At approximately 0115 hrs on Wednesday April, 24, 2002 my rottweiler jumped up from the front porch and began growling. She charged towards the road while I was getting my rifle and a spot light. When I stepped outside she was running full blast towards the house as if terrified out of her mind. I walked out to the road and swept the field with the light. There was no wind but I saw an area where the trees were still waving as if something big had just went through them. I then crossed the road and noticed the barbed wire fence had been pushed down in at least 2 areas. Upon closer examination I noticed the grass was pushed down or crushed down on this side of the fence. It looked like something was stepping over the fence when challenged by the dog, then went back over. As I said there was no wind but I could still smell something like a mixture of raw sewage and carrion. As I turned back to go into the house I heard a scream from approximately 100 yards into the woods. It was repeated several times and sounded similar to a panther scream but the octaves were way too low for a big cat (which I have seen and heard in the wild many times including cougars, black leopards, bobcat, lynx and even tigers from the tiger preserve 8 miles north of the house).
Sounds:
The only thing I could remember that sounded like what I heard was from 30 years ago when as a child on Boggy Creek. It was the same vocalizations in both incidents. And after being stalked by the Fouke Creature for half a mile I will never forget it.
Additional observations:
There was a slight odor when the wind shifted that smelled like a cross between a skunk and rotting carrion.

This investigation was conducted as a result of incidents that allegedly occurred in Smith County, Texas, near Tyler, in 2002.
We interviewed the witness who submitted the report along with his daughter who reportedly had a visual encounter through her window at the time of the April incident. Interviews were conducted by phone and onsite in person.
The February incident reportedly occurred in the early morning hours, around 3:00 a.m. The moon was almost full. The witness recalled that he was sitting in the living room watching television. He indicated that his pet rottweiler started barking and jumping wildly out in front of the house. The witness said that at that time, he grabbed his rifle and went out to investigate the source of the commotion. At that time, he noticed that the horses in the area were very disturbed. The witness stated that "hooting noises" were coming from across the road. The "hooting noises" ceased but a "low growl" quickly followed. The witness estimated that the growl lasted sixty seconds. The witness remembered that upon hearing the growl, the rottweiler ran back and hid under the house. The witness said that he could smell an unpleasant odor like "a cross of rotting flesh and skunk." The witness recalled hearing the noise of trees and limbs breaking from the same point as the vocalizations across the road in the woods. The witness stated that he has years of outdoor experience and is familiar with most wildlife sounds, yet he could not identify the source of the growl.
The witness reportedly experienced another similar incident two months later, in April, again in the early morning hours at approximately 1:00 a.m. The witness described this incident as beginning in the same way as the previous incident. The moon was almost full. Again, the Rottweiler issued an early warning of an intruder on the premises by barking and growling wildly. The activity was once again, right across the road in the woods.
The witness grabbed his rifle and spotlight and promptly went outside. He swept the pasture with the spotlight. He did not see anything, but he could see that trees were swaying back and forth as if something entered the woods at that point. The witness mentioned that the same odor as before was in the air; there was no wind. The witness said that he continued to scan the area with his spotlight. The witness reportedly found part of the barbed wire fence, close to his house that had been pushed down. He remembered seeing weeds and grass that had the appearance having been crushed down on the other side of the fence. He estimated that at a distance of approximately 80 yards into the woods, he heard a low octave screaming type vocalization. At that point, the witness went back into the house.
The next day, the witness?s 12-year-old daughter, who had been awakened by all the barking, growling and unknown vocalizations, told the witness that she had looked out through the blinds on her bedroom window and saw a large, hairy, two legged figure standing next to the fence across the road. The young witness described what she saw as being very large and tall, possibly as tall as seven and one-half feet, and she was certain of it.
The mother of the witnesses lives 30 yards behind their home in a pre-manufactured home. She has complained of something hitting the side of her house during the night.
The father also told us about incident that he experienced thirty years ago when he was eight years old. At the time, he was staying at a cabin not far from Fouke, Arkansas along with his grandfather and uncle.
The witness stated that one night, he and his uncle saw a "set of eyes" looking into the cabin. The window was seven and one-half feet from the ground.
The witness recalled how the next day, he and his uncle were walking down the road when they found footprints and smelled a strange odor in the air. The witness told of how he and his uncle next heard something breaking trees and branches nearby in the woods. As they attempted to fell, the noises seemed to follow them. They ran to the closest cabin where an elderly gentleman came out to meet them. The man called the grandfather on the phone. When the grandfather arrived on the scene, the man warned the grandfather not to leave the boys alone in the woods. The man told the grandfather and the boys of a creature that was seen in the area when the Sulphur River would flood.
